Does anyone out there still date their husband? I do, and I highly recommend it. Before the baby, every Friday night was date night and even though we were together all the time, we made that time really special. As those of you with children can attest, quality alone time after a baby is extremely hard to find. We are so thankful that my mother watches Eli every other Sunday afternoon so that Alan and I can still have date time. She picks him up on her way home from church and keeps him until after dinner.
We used to see go see movies all the time, however time and money just doesn’t seem to allow that much anymore. But during yesterday’s date, we went to see the movie “Fireproof.” What a great movie! Kudos to the folks at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia and the Kendrick brothers for another quality Christian movie with real substance. With a budget of only $500,000 this movie has already made over $12 million. Hollywood may be realizing that Christians would like to see more substance, less trash, and fewer stars mocking the values that we hold dear.
If you haven’t seen the movie yet, I would encourage you to check it out before it leaves theaters. I was appreciative to the writers of the movie that the gospel message was so clearly presented. I have no doubt that God will use this movie to restore relationships between husbands and wives and help people see their need for a Savior.
Although I’m not in the habit of reviewing movies, this one gets a gold star from me. If you haven’t been on a date with your husband in awhile, Fireproof is a great way to spend the evening with someone you love.
